What to wear to a rehearsal dinner
I know you all can relate to this... you have a big event coming up and the big question on your mind is "What should I wear?" . Somehow, though we all have a closet full of clothes, we never seem to have the "appropriate" attire for this particular occasion, even if it's just going out to dinner. We have a BIG event coming up- the wedding of my step-daughter- so this question has been on my mind a lot lately. Of course, first I had to find a long dress for the formal wedding.... that was not such an easy feat! It's prom season, so everything in the stores was on the young, slightly pagenty side. And here, in Baltimore, all the boutiques that used to carry special event gowns have disappeared. I finally found a tasteful , elegant. and not ridiculously costly, long navy Badgley Mischka gown at Saks Jandel in Chevy Chase. Mission 1 accomplished----but not quite....I had to find a backless strapless bra to wear underneath.....oi... such problems! Again, mission accomplished, though. Now I had to figure out what to wear to the rehearsal dinner and dinner on the other 2 nights before the wedding ( we are starting the celebration on Thursday for a Sunday wedding!) Here are 2 of the outfits I came up with- of course with jewelry from LoriMeg Designs completing the outfits. My favorite part is that all of the jewelry pieces can be worn also with leggings and a T-shirt, and still look appropriate. I love that! And I love shopping for dresses at Jones and Jones in Cross Keys... these dresses will be worn again and again- to dinners, Bat Mitzvahs, art openings, faculty dinners with Elliot, etc. The big event is finally here... what will I worry about next week? What to wear on the bike and to the gym, most likely!
